The world seems like a better place this week!

Not that the world seemed like a bad place last week, but my mom visited all weekend! Sometimes a girl just needs her mom, and being 25 weeks pregnant was one of those times for me. We had a great time, but we worked all weekend long!

Mom helped me hang window tint on our top floor, which stays miserably hot all summer long. I think I’ll spend more time up there than usual once the baby comes, and now I won’t have to worry about both of us dying of heat stroke in late July/early August. Thanks, Mom, for all the hard work. Those sliding glass doors were a challenge.

We also went on a multi-county, multi-state search for material for the crib bedding. With half of America pregnant, we expected to find lots of options for material for the nursery. Wrong! Thanks to Mom exploring every fabric store from Memphis to Nashville as well as those around my house (some stores more than once), we found the perfect combination of fabrics, colors, and coordinates. Mom even talked me into making custom piping. I wasn’t very laid back when the sewing project didn’t go as planned; but she was confident, and the piping is going to look great. I really wish she was close enough to come back and help with the sewing once I get the material we ordered.

As if that wasn’t enough to accomplish in a few days, Mom had the enthusiasm to rearrange our living and dining rooms, the patience to ooh and aah over the little baby clothes I showed her piece by piece, and the energy to take Nemo on an unexpectedly long walk (after she made a wrong turn).

I've been overly anxious about all the decisions that need to be made to get the house ready for the baby.  I'm blaming pregnancy hormones, not my A-type personality.  I am a bit calmer today with some of those decisions behind me. Dallas and I both wanted Mom to stay a lot longer than she did! I love you, Mom. Thanks for visiting.
