Happy Halloween

Austin had a great time trick-or-treating with Carly and Reed.

This was all new, but he was his usual exuberant self!

I'd been telling Austin on the ride to Jackson that we would put on his costume.  Since he didn't know what a costume was, he didn't get too excited until...we put on his costume.  "I'm Woody!!!" he exclaimed when he saw himself in the mirror.  He was especially excited to put his arm in the gun holster.  He thought he had grown a wing.  "I can fly with my wing," he told us.

He really liked his cowboy hat, and had a unique way of wearing it.

Finally, we got to the first house.  He went up to the door with Carly, and they gave him a lollipop!  NOTHING that exciting had happened to him all month!  Daddy opened his lollipop.  Austin was pretty much done with trick-or-treating.  He had one lollipop!  How much better could it possibly get?  Beside himself with excitement, he ran full speed in circles in the cul-de-sac yelling "I GOT CANDY!  I GOT CANDY!"

After calming him down, we finally got him to the next house.  MORE??  There's more candy??  He even got to pick out which candy he wanted.  Pity he picked the colorful stuff over the chocolate.

What a fun night he had!

Austin's Ad-libs

A:  Mommy, the T-Rex needs to eat.  He's hungry.  Can you feed him?

M:  Sure.  Stomp, stomp, stomp goes the T-Rex.  "Oh, look.  Some hamburgers.  Yum!"  Stomp, stomp, stomp.  "Yeah!  Hot Dogs!  Yummy!"

A:  He don't need to eat hamburgers and hot dogs.

M:  Well what does he need to eat?

A:  Meat.

Austin's Ad-libs

A:  Daddy, you can put together the stegasaurus puzzle.

D:  OK (puts the 4 puzzle pieces together)

A:  Look, Daddy, you did it!  You did it all by yourself!

The Pumpkin Patch

Austin was so overcome by all the pumpkins, he spent the entire time running around the pumpkin patch yelling, "PUMPKINS!"  Even KeyKey got into the excitement.

Zippity Zappity Zip

Austin was playing in Mr. Farley's garden tonight, and he picked up a bumble bee air catcher.  He pointed it at Dallas and play acted a scene out of his Super Why DVD...

He pointed the air catcher at Dallas and said, "I'm the fairy godmother.  Zippity Zappity Zip.  Zippity Zappity Zap.  Now you have a dress, Daddy."

My Best Friend

I have a new best friend!  KeyKey.  I know he has been around for awhile, but he is more than just my lovey now.  He is my best friend.  I take good care of KeyKey.  I talk to him and tell him I'm going to take care of him .  I always give him turns when we play.  When I'm out playing on the slide,  KeyKey gets to slide down, and then I get a turn.  I find special toys that KeyKey loves to play with.  He especially likes Styrofoam peanuts.  When it is time, I give KeyKey his turn on the potty.  And I always feed him when he is hungry.  I'm a good best friend.

Austin's Ad-libs

Austin was eating a frozen popsicle from Mr. Dave's.  He dropped a big piece of popsicle in the grass.  When he looked down to pick it up, he said, "Look!  The popsicle is growing out of the grass!"

Crib Notes: Turning 2

I'm about to be two whole years old.  Aunt Shay, Sassy, and Mr. Jim had a big birthday party for me.  Aunt Shay sure knows how to throw a party!  We had CAKE!  Remember how much I liked CAKE last year??  Well, it's even better when it has Lightning McQueen on it!  We had presents, and I really enjoyed playing with the paper!  It was fun to throw it up in the air, but it was even more fun to clean it up!  We had so much fun playing with our new play doh and blowing bubbles.  Here are some pictures from the party.  Great news, too.  Mommy says we are having ANOTHER party at Papa Mac's house next weekend!  Ohboyohboyohboy...CAKE again!  I'll post pictures if I can remember to take them.  With CAKE around, I might be a bit distracted.

Ready to get started.

I know this has a purpose.

Ohhh... they got me a tie.  How nice.

Now that's better than a tie!

Here Aunt Shay...clean up, clean up.

How liberating!
I agree...it is liberating!

You won't beat me!

Almost there!

So worth it!

See what I can do after CAKE???
