After screaming for a few miles on the drive out, Austin fell asleep in his carseat. He didn't wake up when we got there, so Dallas propped him up on some boxes inside the sliding glass door to the patio where everyone was eating. He stayed asleep for over two hours and all our friends had to be content with going to the glass door to stare at him. It was like he was the newest exhibit at the zoo.

Baby Zoo
We ventured out as a family for the first time to a non-obligatory event. Some of our friends recently moved into a new house and had a pool party on Sunday. We missed the pool part, but managed to get all of us out of the house and to Mike and Melissa's before dinner was over. I wasn't sure it was a good idea even as we were driving out to the house with Austin fussing in his carseat. It ended up being a great idea. I felt like an adult for the first time since he was born, and I realized that it is possible take Austin to places that don't involve doctor's visits.
